Minamiaso is a treasure trove of water sources, with the Minamiaso Spring Group consisting of 11 spring spots. There are also spring water spots along the line, and you may see people drawing water from the train window. Among them, the one that many tourists visit is Shirakawa Suigen, which is located about a 12-minute walk from Minamiaso Shirakawa Suigen Station. 60 tons of water gushes out every minute, and it is the source of the Shirakawa River, which flows all the way to Kumamoto City.
