Near Takamori Station, you can see a mountain with a distinctive jagged peak. Nekodake, one of the five Aso mountains, resembles a cat.
It was named for this reason, and at an altitude of 1,433 meters, it is the third highest mountain among the Five Mountains. The mountain’s appearance, which changes with the seasons, such as fresh greenery and autumn leaves, attracts many mountain climbers, as well as viewing it from below.
